International Moon Day 2022: History, significance and why it is celebrated

International Moon Day will be celebrated for the first time on July 20th this year. When the Moon Village Association and a number of other UN agencies put out a proposal on December 9, 2021, the UN General Assembly approved. Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin were the first people to set foot on the Moon on July 20, 1969.
